If anyone experienced the era of Internet Relay Chat (IRC) back in the 90's when online social butterflies were
booming on some of the biggest IRC servers, like DalNET, Efnet and Undernet to name a few, then you may of
understood how much of a blast 100's of thousands of people had in this kind of a social platform. People didn't
just make new real life friends, but some even found their soulmates and got married.
Of course, eventually, along came the modern social media, like FB and Twitter, so the popular IRC networks were humbled with many of their users migrating to something new. But it didn't obliterate their existence. Today, there is still tons of IRC servers out there for many people who have a passion for a less overwhelming platform to chat.
The ChatNET IRC Server is not here to re-invent the wheel, or rise up like a mountain, but rather be like a little corner store on the internet with a fun community. As you notice with the design at the top of the page, it was
meant to look playful, fun and goofy which makes for positive times with positive friends. See you there :)
