ChatNET IRC - About

The ChatNET IRC server was created using the UnrealIRCD and Anope IRC Services, running on a

dedicated Debian host in a data center to form a stable and fun chat environment for the casual users. Even

though modern social media has become the norm, there are still thousands of chatterbugs out there that enjoy

an old school type of platform to meet online and have some good laughs and conversation, without the overwhelming ads or signup hassles. Clients can enjoy the classics of using Nickserv, Chanserv and MemoServ

to join, create and manage their own channels having a great time making new friends.

This IRC ChatNET server was not created for commercial use or personal gain. It is very strictly a fan-based

project with absolutely no monetization or financial goals. We will remain diligent in keeping the server in an

independent state, unaffiliated with any other servers or IRC networks. We don't have unrealistic dreams of being

a big IRC server, but we will strive to create a more relaxed experience, without unreasonable administration

or monitoring of the users and channels by server operators. Obviously we will have to address mischievous

events, while avoiding any unneccessary interference with channels trying to enjoy themselves.
